Follow this guide to give your cashmere the longest possible life
After each use allow cashmere to air and relax, avoiding direct sunlight.
All woven items and substantial knitted items should be dry cleaned only.
Small knitted items may be gently hand washed in lukewarm water using cashmere or wool shampoo. Do not use fabric softener as this can stiffen the fibres. Rinse well, and gently squeeze or press the water out, do not rub or wring. Dry flat on a towel at room temperature and re-shape while wet. Iron using a cool setting with a damp cloth, or steam on the iron’s wool setting.
As cashmere is a natural fibre piling will occur over time. This is a natural process and does not indicate quality issues.
De-pill cashmere before washing using a battery operated de-fuzzer.
Natural fibres can attract moths. Prevent issues by ensuring each piece is cleaned before storing.
Allow cashmere to breathe by storing in a cotton bag with zipper closures.
Use natural anti-moth products such as cedar bags when storing and replace often.
If you do discover moths, we recommend freezing the cashmere for 24 hours, then allowing the item to defrost before dry cleaning. Deep cleaning of the wardrobe/storage is also recommended.
